Three things: what this is and is not, what happens to your email address, and who owns the words. Written to be read rather than skipped, which is why it is short.
This is information, not medical advice. Neither the book nor this site is a substitute for a doctor, a pharmacist or a nurse, and reading either does not put you in my care or anyone else's. Nothing here was written about you, because I do not know your history, your medicines or your conditions.
Do not start, stop or change a medicine because of anything here. Where a page says something needs adjusting, treat it as a question to put to whoever prescribes for you, not an instruction to act on.
Anyone who knows your history outranks this book. If something here contradicts what your own clinician has told you, they are right and the book is wrong. Show them the page.
Do not delay care because of anything you read. If something worries you, get it looked at. The book's warning-signs page comes first: if a sign there applies to you, act on it and leave the rest until you have.
The numbers are not universal. Thresholds, doses, what is available on prescription and what you are legally obliged to report all differ by country. The book names the body behind each figure so you can see where it came from. Use the one that applies where you live. The book is not written to any one country's law or guidance.
Written for adults. The doses, thresholds and training are adult ones. None of it was written for children.
I am in the wellness industry, so I sell into the same space the book covers. I grade supplement categories on the evidence like everything else and I grade most of them down, including the ones I work in. Read all of it knowing that.
The book is a reading of the evidence as it stood when it was written, and evidence moves. Studies conflict, good ones get overturned by better ones, and a finding that looks solid at one sample size can shrink at a larger one. I have traced almost every claim to a primary source and graded it, and I have had it read by clinicians. None of that makes it right about you. It is offered as it is, without any guarantee that it is complete, current, or suited to your situation, and to the extent the law allows I am not liable for what you decide to do with it. Where the law does not allow that, nothing here is intended to limit any right you have that cannot be limited.
What I collect. Your email address, and only if you type it into the form. Nothing else. There is no account, no profile, and no tracking or analytics on this site.
Why. To send you one email when the book goes to print. That is the whole purpose.
Who else sees it. Buttondown, who run the list and send the email. Your address is stored on their systems and is not sold, rented, shared or passed to anyone else.
How long. Until you unsubscribe, which is one click in the footer of any email, or until you ask me to delete it.
Your rights. Ask and I will tell you exactly what is stored, correct it, or delete
it. No reason needed and no form to fill in. Write to

None. This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics, which is why you were not asked to agree to any.
The PDF on the reviewer page is a draft circulated for comment. It is not the published book and it will change. Please do not post it publicly or pass it on for general circulation. Sharing it with a colleague whose reading would help is welcome, and if you do, tell me so I know who has it.
